Technology Club Logos

Discerning readers of the Technologist may
have noticed:
a) that there are TWO varieties of
the Technologist Club Logo, one
with Roman-type letter U's, and
b) that the latter is fuzzy, probably
due to much reproduction.
In looking through some historic materials in
the Club's office at Onondaga Community
College, I came across a plaque which shows
that the Club seal was transmitted electronic-
ally by RCA in 1928, in connection with an
address by one of its staff. It appears to be
an early form of FAX: the image has been
scanned, confirmed by close-up examination
of the 'jaggies' on the circles, and a slight
amount of stretching -- the circles aren't quite
perfect. It is referred to as a 'Photoradiogram,'
which might infer that it was transmitted by
radio. Further research should clarify this
point. The seal includes the date when the
Club was incorporated -- most people will
be aware that the club was founded in 1903,
four years earlier.
