The Technical Societies Council of the Technology Club of Syracuse is planning the 2nd Annual Celebration of Technology awards Banquet and Exhibit Expo. At the Banquet, in addition to the awards which will be given out by the individual societies, six awards will be given by the Technology Club of Syracuse representing the local technology community made up of over 30 active Technical Societies. Awards will be presented for: 1. Technologist of the Year A Central New Yorker who has made outstanding contributions to advances and improvements in a technological field, not limited to Engineering. 2. Technology Educator of the Year A Central New Yorker who has clearly demonstrated outstanding success in instilling appreciation and understanding of technology in his/her students. 3. Young Technologist of the Year A Central New Yorker, less than 35 years old, who has made recent outstanding contributions to advances and improvements in a technological field not limited to engineering. 5. Technology Project of the Year A current outstanding technological project, invention or process designed, iniated, or constructed in Central New York. 5. Technology Company of the Year A Central NewYork Technology company that has made outstanding contributions to new and/or innovative products, process technologies, or productivity leading to enhanced business |
6. Engineer of the Year A Central New Yorker, selected by or for the Central NY Society of Professional Engineers (CNYPE), who has made putstanding contributions to advances and improvements in engineering. AWARD CRITERIA In addition to the six overall awards, each society may nominate one worthy individual for significant and noteworthy achievements during the past year. Nominations should be submitted for substantial accomplishments with supporting documentation included. The intent of these awards is to obtain wider peer and community recognition for the candidate's contribution to his/her society and/or community betterment AWARD QUALIFICATIONS: Nominations may be made for worthy cand- idates by local societies, educational institutes, or employers. Nominees need not be active members of the Technology Club's participat- ing societies, but professional membership in an organization will be given consideration. One qualified candidate will be selected to receive an award for each category.
