Granite is the solidified remains of molten rock. When a mountain is made, you bury rocks at great depths, where you have high temperature and pressure, and this can cause rocks to melt. Learn all about how mountains are made over time with Dr. Phillips
Biography:
Stacy Phillips, PhD is a geologist who has investigated how the crust melts and the effect this has on the growth of the Himalayan mountains. Currently teaching at the University of Hull, Dr. Phillips completed her PhD at the Open University (UK), in geology and earth science. She earned her MSc from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and BSc from University of St. Andrews.
