Presenter: Mike Cimino, Director of STEAM and Making, Fayetteville Free Library
Talk Overview:
The presentation will begin by covering the power of STEM, discovering Your Inner Scientist, the Quest for Knowledge, and recognizing the role of failure in STEM. We will then look at the importance of coding and robotics in today’s world, with a hands-on activity using Dash robots and Blockly programming.
Biography:
A former high school teacher in Port Byron, Mike Cimino joined the Fayetteville Free Library in 2013, and has been a STEM educator and makerspace director since 2016. Mike is a Board member of TACNY, and is on the Maker Space Syracuse organizing committee.
