Program Summary:
Engineers Jeffery Reina, P.E. (C&S Companies) and Christopher Sheridan, P.E. (NYS DOT) will participate in a panel discussion of proposed new and improved technologies that will go into the I-81 project. The panel discussion will be moderated by TACNY Board member Lesen Gleason, P.E. (Barton & Loguidice), and will focus on the innovative technologies and related engineering challenges.
Presenters:
- Jeffery Reina, P.E. (C&S Companies): Jeff is the Highway Department Manager at C&S Companies, where he leads a wide range of transportation design and infrastructure projects. With over two decades of experience in civil engineering, Jeff specializes in highway design, utility coordination, and stormwater management. He currently serves as the C&S Project Manager for the Phase I and Phase II contracts of the I-81 Viaduct Project in Syracuse—a transformative initiative that incorporates innovative technologies and addresses significant engineering challenges. Jeff holds dual B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering and Interdisciplinary Engineering & Management from Clarkson University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York. He is also an active member of the American Public Works Association and the NYS Association of Transportation Engineers.
- Christopher Sheridan (NYS DOT): Construction Project Coordinator for the I-81 Viaduct Project, oversees all aspects of construction associated with the $2.25 billion project. Mr. Sheridan, a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, and a licensed professional engineer has been with the New York State Department of Transportation for 32 years after beginning his career in the private sector. Mr. Sheridan has worked in Planning and Program Management, Bridge Safety Assurance, Locally Administered Federal Aid projects, Operations, Asset Management and Construction. His experience in the construction office includes, Site Manager trainer, Office Engineer, Engineer in Charge, Area Supervisor.
