Presenter: Megan K. Thomas, Esq., General Counsel and Director of Public Education, Onondaga County Water Authority (OCWA)
Talk Overview:
Megan Thomas is from OCWA, Central New York’s Water Authority, and she will be presenting on where OCWA’s water comes from, how it is cleaned, and how it gets to OCWA’s customers. She will also present on water sustainability. Finally, she will address jobs in the water industry.
Biography:
Megan K. Thomas, Esq., currently serves as the General Counsel and Director of Public Education at the Onondaga County Water Authority (“OCWA”) where she strives to protect OCWA legally and educate the public on what OCWA does. Prior to this role, Megan worked in private practice for five years, including at Mackenzie Hughes, LLP, where she primarily worked in litigation. Megan previously taught for six years in inner-city schools, including as part of Teach for America. Megan lives in Syracuse with her husband Rich and their two children, Bailey and Madeleine. In her spare time, Megan enjoys spending time with her family, visiting local restaurants, traveling, and running.
